1955 Volkswagen Beetle-Classic for sale in Sylvania OH

For Sale: 1955 Volkswagen Beetle — Truck Configuration
A Brief History of the Beetle
The Volkswagen Type 1, introduced in 1945 as "The People’s Car," quickly became a global icon. Known worldwide by names like Käfer, Vocho, Coccinelle, Fusca, and Maggiolino, the Beetle sold over 21.5 million first-generation models, making it one of the most popular cars ever made. Celebrated for its innovative design and affordability, the Beetle was compact, practical, and inexpensive to maintain. Its air-cooled engine required less upkeep and was easier to repair than many contemporary American cars. Beyond its mechanical merits, the Beetle became a symbol of freedom, individuality, and in the U.S., counter-culture, peace, and unity. Volkswagen retired the Beetle in 2019, marking 70 years since its introduction to the U.S. market.
